Outdoor Branded Video Production
Unworldly and inhospitable. These two words were bouncing around my head as I carefully navigated a lava flow. Craters of the Moon National Monument in southernIdaho is a striking landscape of volcanic formations, featuring expansive lava fields, cinder cones, and lava tubes. Resembling a lunar surface, the area offers a unique glimpse into the Earth’s geologic history. Outside of Hawaii, these lava flows are rare in the United States. It was a perfect location for branded video production in Idaho.
Josh Berry, a Giant Bikes athlete, asked Idarado to produce a series of short films. As a video production company specializing in outdoor content, we were excited to be involved. The first project was documenting a 200 mile ride through southern Idaho, starting and ending in Sun Valley. This video production project was titled Ride Unleashed.
Shouldering a RED DSMC2 camera and tripod, I made my way to a small highpoint. From this location, I had a window of the gravel road on which Josh would ride. I set up the cinema camera and waited for the director, Jon Mancuso to let me know when Josh was about to enter the frame. For me, time slows down in these moments. The world transforms into the small window within the EVF. Eventually, Jon yells a countdown, I begin recording, and Josh appears in the frame. These moments are why we love what we do. Once we wrapped on the production of the short film, we drove across the snake river valley to shoot a product launch piece.
Outdoor Product Launch Video Production
The Cadex Classics tire launch video turned out to be one of those video production projects that stands out for all those involved. Set in the high desert of Idaho and at the base of the Lost River mountains, the raw beauty of the landscape complemented the impressive athletic abilities that Josh Berry possessed. Armed with a lean production kit, Idarado followed Josh as he rode through some of the most iconic landscapes that Idaho has to offer. After capturing aspirational content centered around the tires, the Idarado team headed to the Pioneer mountains.
Giant bikes is breaking into the bike packing industry. Idardao produced a hero video and several product knowledge videos centered around the new bike packing bag line. Following the athletes on mountain bikes, the Idarado team meticulously told the story of friends on a bike packing trip. It is projects like these that gets me excited about branded content video production in Idaho.
